MSI Titan GT77

Positioned as a desktop replacement, the Titan GT77 comes packed with the specs and cooling parts to back that claim. It boasts a 17.3-inch 120Hz IPS panel that goes up to 3840 x 2160 resolution and 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut.

It is powered by an i9-12900HX Processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU, up to 128GB of DDR5 RAM and a maximum of 8TB of SSD storage. Thanks to its cooling design, the Titan GT77 can afford to deliver 250W of combined power to the CPU and GPU via MSI Overboost for desktop-like performance.

Like other models in the 2022 lineup, it also gets the Cherry MX Ultra-Low Switch mechanical keyboard by SteelSeries. These keys provide tactile, crisp presses and are RGB-backlighted for the gamer in you.

It comes with two Thunderbolt 4 ports, three USB Type-A ports, an SD Express memory card reader, an HDMI 2.1 port, a Mini DisplayPort and a 3.5mm audio combo jack. The laptop is powered by the maximum-allowed battery capacity of 99.9Whr.

The Titan GT77 is not a lightweight laptop, coming in at slightly above 3kg, and certainly ranks among the heavyweights in terms of price, starting from S$8,099.

MSI Raider GE77 / GE67 HX

Both the 2022 Raider GE77 and GE67 have the i7-12800HX Processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU, up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM and a max of 2TB SSD storage (1TB for the Raider GE67).

They differ in the display department. The Raider GE77 has the bigger 17.3-inch 240Hz IPS Panel at 2560 x 1440 resolution. The star, if you are all for display clarity, is the Raider GE67 with its 15.6-inch 240Hz OLED display, also at 2560 x 1440 resolution. The OLED display is great for both gaming as well as content creation since you get a 0.2ms response time, a 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut and a super-high 1 mil:1 contrast ratio.

They also have the Cherry MX Ultra-Low Switch mechanical keyboard by SteelSeries for people who love ‘clicky’ key presses. For ports, you get one Thunderbolt 4, one USB-C, three USB-A, an SD Express memory card reader, an HDMI 2.1 port, and a 3.5mm audio combo jack. It gets its juice from a 99.9Whr battery, which is the maximum allowed battery capacity for these devices.

The Raiders are lighter and priced more competitively compared to the Titan; the GE77 weighs in at 2.9kg with the price starting from S$4,899, and the GE67 hits the scale at 2.4kg with the price starting from S$4,499.
