With Sony and EA sitting out for E3 2019, the pressure is on Microsoft to start the event off on an enthusiastic note. It seems Xbox fans are in luck, then, for head honcho Phil Spencer has promised plenty in store for its opening act, and is confident that it will be one of the team’s biggest and most exciting showcases yet.

In the two weeks leading up to E3, the executive took to Twitter and unveiled some plans for the show floor. A total of 14 Xbox-exclusive titles have been confirmed to make an appearance on stage, following Spencer’s word during the Xbox E3 Press Briefing that their upcoming show will feature “some new things that nobody has ever seen before.”

Among the list of game reveals, highly-anticipated titles like Gears 5 and Halo Infinite are already guaranteed to drink in the limelight, while a host of rumoured projects, including Fable 4, are expected to make their debut. Accompanying the possibly multi-platform game lineup could be developing news on Microsoft’s next-gen console, Xbox Project Scarlett, as well as future plans for their cloud service partnership with Sony.

Considering how Xbox has been playing catch-up to Sony’s hugely successful PS4 in recent times, and its light, sparse release schedule for the year, Microsoft would certainly benefit from a chance to build themselves up again and map out the path to the glory days of their past. Hopefully, Spencer and his team will be able to impress further this time round, and start the wheels of comeback turning.
