Michael Keaton’s Batman Returns In Upcoming Flash Movie Isn’t Official

It was first teased during the recent DC Fandome event that Michael Keaton’s Batman will be making a return alongside Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen in the upcoming DC movie The Flash

However, during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, when asked if he could verify the news that he will be suiting up as Batman once again, Keaton was reluctant to confirm anything. Instead, replying that he ‘couldn’t confirm anything’.

He adds, “We’re having discussions, as they say. We’re talking about it. We’ll see if it happens.”

On the other hand, Keaton was more than willing to share his opinion on his favourite Batman. Whilst making a joke on how all “127 previous Batmen” will be making an appearance in The Flash, he proclaimed himself to be the best Caped Crusader of the lot.

The revelation that Keaton’s involvement in The Flash is still up in the air will be sure to puzzle DC fans as director Andy Muschietti himself was the one to reveal Keaton’s role in his upcoming film. But it could be a case of either Muschietti jumping the gun too early, or Keaton purposely playing coy with his fans.

The actor could also simply be keeping things under wraps first for the time being for security purposes, or the COVID-19 pandemic could have affected his schedule with the film. Only time will tell.

The Flash is slated to release in theatres on 4 November 2022.
