Meet Young ‘Dexter’ In New Series Prequel

The Morgan family is making their prequel debut with the release of first-look images for Dexter: Original Sin. The photos introduce viewers to younger versions of the iconic characters from the original series, featuring Patrick Gibson as Dexter Morgan, Christian Slater as Harry Morgan, and Molly Brown as Debra Morgan.

Dexter: Original Sin, a 10-episode thriller, takes place 15 years before audiences first met Michael C. Hall’s Dexter. Set in 1991 Miami, the series follows Dexter as he transitions from student to avenging serial killer. With the guidance of his father, Harry, Dexter learns to channel his inner darkness and adopts a Code to help him eliminate those who deserve to be removed from society, all while avoiding law enforcement’s radar. Dexter’s journey begins with a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.

The prequel series, executive produced by Hall and original showrunner Clyde Phillips, promises to delve deeper into Dexter’s early years and the development of his dark persona. Phillips, known for his work on Dexter and Nurse Jackie, returns as a showrunner for Original Sin.

Joining the cast are Patrick Dempsey as Aaron Spencer, James Martinez as Angel Batista, Christina Milian as Maria LaGuerta, Alex Shimizu as Vince Masuka, Reno Wilson as Bobby Watt, and guest star Sarah Michelle Gellar as Tanya Martin. The series is produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios, with Michael Lehmann directing.

Dexter: Original Sin aims to offer fans a thrilling exploration of Dexter’s formative years, setting the stage for the complex character they came to know and love. While a premiere date has not been announced, the first-look images have already generated excitement among the show’s dedicated fanbase.
