Exciting developments have taken place following the God of War series adaptation by Amazon and Sony Pictures, with the game’s voice actor for Thor now cast as Kratos for the live-action two-season show. The series has now found its Heimdall with Max Parker (Boots, Vampire Academy).

In the game, Heimdall is the condescending and sometimes chaotic son of Odin, who can read a person’s thoughts by looking into their eyes. He also has the power to slow down time, alongside other superhuman abilities that come with being a Norse god.
He is officially described as the “Watchman of Asgard,” who is “handsome and dynamic, feels unappreciated by his father and underestimated by the rest of the family, [and] as a result [is] constantly looking for ways to improve his position in the hierarchy and increase his stature and power.”
The role seems like something Palmer would fit well in, and it’s interesting to see how Parker would spin this character and portray Heimdall’s arrogance.

Aside from Parker, it is also revealed that Teresa Palmer (Lights Out, Ride Like a Girl) will star as Sif, who is Thor’s daughter in the game.
There is no slated date for the show’s release, and there are still big shoes to fill when it comes to casting other characters like Mimir, Thor, Odin, and even Atreus. Telling a story that is as epic, yet intimate, as God of War is a tall order, and only Heimdall himself can look into the future to see the series’ success (or failure).
