Marvel Future Avengers Japanese Anime Series Premieres 28 February On Disney+

While Marvel Phase 4 won’t begin in another few months, Marvel fans will be delighted to hear that a new story is coming soon in the form of Marvel Future Avengers, an anime series which will be premiering on Disney+ on 28 February 2020. (via the D23 website).

The anime revolves around the original story of a young boy named Makoto, who develops superpowers by way of a HYDRA experiment. Together with other teens, Makoto joins the Avengers under a new group called the Future Avengers, fighting villainy alongside the likes of heavyweights such as Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk, and the Wasp.

Originally aired in Japan in 2017, Marvel Future Avengers was produced by Japanese animation studio Madhouse and Walt Disney Japan. It ran for 39 episodes across two seasons.

This isn’t the first time Marvel has teamed up with Madhouse, having made the likes of individual Iron Man, X-Men, Wolverine, and Blade series, as well as anime movies in Iron Man: Rise of Technovore (2013) and Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher (2014).

Marvel Future Avengers will be joining the upcoming What If…? as the second Marvel animated series on Disney+.
