‘Magic: The Gathering’ Releases Double Masters 2022 With Double The Rares & Foils

If you seek power in your decks, then this upcoming set is certainly worth a look. Wizards of the Coast is releasing its next set for Magic: The Gathering collectible card game — Double Masters 2022, filled with powerful reprint cards in new designs and visuals, on 8 July 2022.

We’ve had a chance to open up an extremely dear Collector Boosters box (Amazon | Shopee) and found the results pretty… satisfying.

Double Masters 2022 contains a total of 331 cards, including 80 borderless cards across all rarities and the mythic rare iconic Planeswalker of Magic Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh. Other iconic cards returning in foil etched format are the Legendary Planeswalkers Wrenn and Liliana, as well as the original Eldrazi Titans Emrakul, Kozilek, and Ulamog.

Like the original Double Masters set from 2020, you get at least two rares and two foils enclosed in every pack (Draft Boosters, Draft Packs, and Collector Boosters).

The set should attract competitors and collectors since it contains both powerful cards as well as new premium treatments on them. It also adds a new layer to drafting with the cards’ 3-colour format and multi-coloured limited archetypes, letting players use as many new rares and mythics can they can in a single draft.

Pre-orders of Double Masters 2022 for Magic: The Gathering in Draft Boosters, Draft Packs, and Collector Boosters (Amazon | Shopee) are available now, but actual cards will only be released on 8 July 2022.
