Lazada Orchard Road Pop-Up Offers Festive Treats To Shoppers This 12.12

December is upon us, and Lazada has set up a pop-up showcase along Orchard Road to offer shoppers with more temptations and gift ideas for the holiday season. The leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia, which recently had a million-dollar condominium giveaway, is bringing a slice of its online presence into the physical world.

The pop-up showcase features products and brands that are on Lazada’s dedicated channels, LazMall and LazMall Prestige.

For LazMall, there are displays for Casio, Garmin, Lego, LeSportsac, Metro, Muji, Play Line Friends, Pristine, Rebecca Minkoff, Retrosuperfuture, and WMF. For LazMall Prestige, the curated displays include products from Bacha Coffee, Bang & Olufsen, Estée Lauder, Furla, HERA, Lancôme, Longines, Michael Kors, Moët Hennessy, Sulwhasoo, Vertu, and more.

The pop-up allows shoppers to touch and feel the physical products for themselves before scanning a QR code to purchase said products. This addresses an issue some may have with online shopping, where there’s no perfect way to see and interact with the items before making a purchase. For those who are used to buying physical items straight from a physical store, the idea of being in a physical location but having to buy the item online and wait for it to be delivered may be a bit strange. However, it is similar to how many purchase bulky furniture and electronics, except applied to a wider variety of products.

Featured are Lazada-exclusive sets and items, including LeSportsac’s Winter 2021 Dick Bruna collection, Bacha Coffee’s Christmas gift sets, Sulwhasoo’s Love Your Skin gift sets, Casio’s Green Beats, and more.

Gifting station

The pop-up itself is divided into two sides, with one side showing the LazMall brands, and the other showing the LazMall Prestige brands. There is even a gifting station on the LazMall Prestige side, where shoppers can use the wrapping materials and markers there to make their own gift wrap or bag. While they won’t be able to wrap the gift right there and then, because the items will be purchased on the Lazada app itself and will need to be delivered first, this is a nice touch that can save shoppers from having to worry about getting gift wraps from elsewhere. There are even workshops every Friday to Sunday between 2pm to 6pm until 2 January 2022 that will teach shoppers Furoshiki cloth gift wrapping and calligraphy for gift cards.

Also, there is a fun “gacha” vending machine as part of the event, which gives shoppers a chance to get a random product for S$2. Best of all, every item in the vending machine is worth more than $2, so it’s a fun way to end a shopper’s pop-up experience, because, who doesn’t enjoy a little random surprise.

By using the ‘Deals Nearby’ function on the Lazada app, shoppers will also be able to see a range of F&B offers, which includes outlets like PEZZO, CHICHA San Chen, Jollibean, Flash Coffee, and COLLIN’S near the pop-up showcase so they can grab a meal or enjoy some coffee.

The Lazada Pop-up on Orchard Road is now open till 2 January 2022.
