Renowned video game director Hideo Kojima has announced plans to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his studio, Kojima Productions, at a special event titled Beyond The Strand, which is set to take place in Japan in September.

According to Kojima Productions’ official website, the Beyond The Strand event will be hosted by Kojima himself, and “will include special guest appearances as well as offer a glimpse into future projects”. The event is set to take place at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills, Tokyo, Japan, on 23 September 2025.
Eager fans can enter a lottery to stand a chance to secure a ticket to the event, which costs ¥7700 (approx. S$67), with tickets going on sale on 2 September. Alternatively, a livestream of the event will also be available online, with details to be announced on a later date.
As to which “future projects” are set to be announced at Beyond The Strand is still unclear at the moment, but it won’t be surprising if more details emerge for some of Kojima’s known projects, such as the Metal Gear spiritual successor, Physint, which the director previously announced was in its early conceptual stage, or his upcoming horror project OD which is indevelopment in collaboration with Microsoft and Jordan Peele.

Kojima could possibly tease more about the various Death Stranding-related film projects in the pipeline, such as the live-action A24 movie or the animated adaptation, which is set to feature an original story. One thing’s for sure, though, this is Kojima after all, so Beyond The Strand’s reveals will certainly be vague, wacky, or everything in between.
