Kingdoms Of Amalur: Re-Reckoning Remaster Leak Points To August Release

The time for remasters continue, as the latest to join the queue is the cult classic action role-playing game, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. The 2012 release has established a small but loyal following over the years, and following THQ Nordic‘s acquisition of the brand in 2018, the remaster, Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning will release on 11 August.

Spotted as a listing on the Microsoft Store, the remaster will come with “stunning visuals and refined gameplay.” All of the game’s DLC will also be included.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is being worked on by KAIKO Games, which have worked on remasters for Darksiders and Legend of Kay: Anniversary Edition amongst other titles.

The history of the action RPG is an interesting one. Released in 2012, developers 38 Studios would go bankrupt just a few months later. The art was done by comic artist Todd McFarlane, while renowned writer R.A Salvatore contribured.

A MMO was also said to be in the pipeline to flesh out the universe. A 2013 auction saw no one buying the Kingdoms of Amalur name. Only in 2018 did THQ Nordic swept in to purchase the series.
