Get ready to harness superhuman martial arts not just as one character, but as many as the massive character roster in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R allows. The stylistic fighting game is set to feature characters from every story arc of its anime counterpart, making it the biggest game in the franchise to date.
The announcement came in the form of a new gameplay trailer, where four characters from the anime series, Robert E.O. Speedwagon, Mariah, Pet Shop, and Diego Brando, can be seen in-game for the first time. It also sets up the stage for an epic encounter between the heroes from different universes, allowing players to experience popular battles from each story as Jonathan Joestar, Dio, Jotaro Kujo, Jolyne Cujoh — daughter of Jotaro and the first-ever female JoJo in the series — and many more.
Two game versions will be available. The Standard Edition consists of only the main game, while the Digital Deluxe Edition includes the following:
- The main game
- The Season Pass, which grants four new playable characters
- Season Pass Bonus Features – two exclusive DLC costumes (“Rohan Kishibe First Appearance Costume” and “Mohammed Avdol’s Father? Costume”), and two days of early access to all Season Pass characters
- An Animation Special Event color set for the following characters – Jotaro Kujo, Jonathan Joestar, Josuke Higashikata, Giorno Giovanna, Joseph Joestar
All pre-orders of the main game will come with a download code to obtain a bonus Green Dolphin Street State Prison Jacket costume for Jolyne Cujoh, with more information coming to the Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia’s e-store soon.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is slated for release on consoles on 1 September 2022, and on Steam on 2 September.
