The Last of Us Season 2 has found its Dina, with Isabela Merced being cast for the role. The Transformers star is the latest casting announcement to follow after Kaitlyn Dever was announced to play Abby and Young Mazino was cast as Jesse.
“Dina is warm, brilliant, wild, funny, moral, dangerous and instantly lovable,” said co-creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. “You can search forever for an actor who effortlessly embodies all of those things, or you can find Isabela Merced right away. We couldn’t be prouder to have her join our family.”
Merced has starred in a number of films recently, including Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Transformers: The Last Knight, and Sicario: Day of the Soldado, and is set to star in Marvel’s Madame Web. With Isabela Merced playing Dina, Kaitlyn Dever playing Abby, and Young Mazino as Jesse, the biggest casting announcements for Season 2 have been revealed, though some supporting roles remain to be announced.
The Last of Us was adapted into a HBO series in 2021, which covered the events of the first game, and Season 2 will adapt The Last of Us Part 2’s narrative across multiple seasons.
