To help keep those in self-quarantine entertained, HBO has announced that it’ll be making 500 hours of programming free to stream for a limited period of time on HBO Now and HBO Go.
From 3 April onwards, you will be able to stream every episode of nine HBO original series, namely The Sopranos, Veep, Succession, Six Feet Under, The Wire, Ballers, Barry, Silicon Valley, and True Blood. No subscription to HBO is needed to stream these shows for free.
A number of Warner Bros. movies including Pokemon Detective Pikachu and The Lego Movie 2, and HBO documentaries such as The Case Against Adnan Syed will also be available to stream.
HBO’s free streaming also serves to give its users a glimpse of what’s to come with HBO Max when it launches in May. The upcoming streaming service will include shows from HBO, Warner Bros., as well as a number of original titles for US$14.99 a month.
Unfortunately, this free streaming service is currently not available in Asia. Geek Culture has reached out to HBO Asia for comments.
