Transform And Roll Out! Hasbro Honours The Best Of Beast Wars With ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ Figures For Collectors

It’s time to roll out the beasts! Just as 1996’s Beast Wars: Transformers animated series represented the next evolution of the iconic Transformers entertainment franchise, history looks to be repeating itself with the upcoming Transformers: Rise of the Beasts film set to bring the live-action movie franchise to greater heights.

And what is Transformers in any form without a strong toyline to support it? For those who grew up on a steady diet of Beast Wars, the continuing story of good versus evil has taken on new, organic forms of the Maximals and Predacons, and fans can finally see their favourite Cybertronian warriors come to life on the big screen later this year.

Primarily influenced by the Beast Wars storyline, this standalone film serves as a blast from the past, and will introduce the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons to the live action series, and while there have been several trailers, character posters and even toy reveals to tease the new movie, not much is know about the new characters featured in the film. To commemorate the live-action debut of Beast Wars, toymaker Hasbro has rolled out a new Studio Series toy line for adults headlining the major characters from Rise of the Beasts, including Airazor, Bumblebee, Cheetor, Battletrap, and Scourge. While there have been different versions of Beast Wars toys released since 1996, this marks a major revision of the toyline, with a more accurate depiction of animals to robots.

For the Transformers collectors, there’s even more of a special incentive as Hasbro is introducing a Limited Edition Pin Collection up for grabs. Limited to only 350 sets in Singapore and 300 sets in Malaysia, it will kick off first with the Autobot Pin and Collector Box combo in May, with the Maximal, Decepticon, Predacon, and Terrorcon versions slated for staggered release in June, July, August, and September respectively.

The Pin Collection is available as a “gift with purchase” exclusively in Singapore at The Falcon’s Hangar and RoboRobo. Purchase S$100 and above in a single receipt to receive 1 pin. Accumulate a total spend of S$400 within the month of May to receive 1 Collector Box (pictured above).

As for collectors in Malaysia, the pins are available exclusively at MYTOY and 1TOY. Purchase RM250 and above in a single receipt to receive 1 pin. Accumulate a total spend of RM400 within the month of May to receive 1 Collector Box (pictured above).

In addition, Hasbro Singapore is also running a social media contest to give away four tickets to Universal Studios Singapore to five winners per month, across May and June. All you have to do is spend a minimum of S$30 on Transformers products from participating retailers from now till 30 June 2023 and submit your entries online for a chance to win each month. More details of the contest can be found on Hasbro Singapore’s Facebook and Instagram posts.

Transformers Studio Series Deluxe 97 Airazor

Look up in the sky. It’s a bird. It’s a plane. No, it’s Airazor, the latest form of Hong Kong action star, Michelle Yeoh! It’ll be exciting to see the sky-soaring robot take off in its live-action debut, brought to life by the recent Academy Awards winner, and its figurine form is no less magnificent. The 4.5-inch model boasts movie-inspired design elements and details, with highly-articulated parts for users to transform it into either a standing robot or peregrine falcon in 23 steps.

To complete its look, the action figure also ships with two photon blast accessories that can be attached in both modes, as well as a removable backdrop featuring the Peruvian Jungle Discovery scene. Strike a pose in your own style, and complete the experience.

The Transformers Studio Series Deluxe 97 Airazor is out now at The Falcon’s Hangar, RoboRobo, MYTOY, and 1TOY.

Transformers Studios Series Deluxe 100 Bumblebee

The fan-favourite Autobot cuts a familiar and recognisable figure with its yellow-and-black colourway. Standing proud and tall at 4.5 inches, this Bumblebee toy takes after the design of its onscreen persona, right down to the smallest detail. Case in point – instead of the Volkswagen Beetle look from Bumblebee, it comes fitted in the Chevrolet Camaro, the same build seen in the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts trailer.

Like its Airazor counterpart, the mode conversion process will take 23 steps, with the Stinger Blaster and arm blade serving as accessories. The removable background here, meanwhile, takes the form of the Volcano Showdown scene.

Transformers Studios Series Voyager 98 Cheetor

Decked out in the prints of, well, a cheetah, the 6.5-inch action figure lives up to its name of a ferocious speedster. It boasts classic conversion between robot and cheetah modes in 24 steps, can be equipped with two combinable spear accessories, and is best posed against the backdrop of the Peruvian Jungle Discovery scene.

Transformers Studios Series Voyager 98 Cheetor is out now at The Falcon’s Hangar, RoboRobo, MYTOY, and 1TOY.

Transformers Studios Series Voyager 99 Battletrap

The orange and black tow truck’s big screen appearance should come as a treat for Beast Wars fans, as David Sobolov, who voiced Depth Charge in the cartoon, is returning to lend his voice to the Terracon. At 6.5 inches tall, this Battletrap figure sports a mace accessory and takes 30 steps to transform from robot to vehicle mode. Likewise, a removable background completes the setup, displaying it in the Attack at the Museum scene.

Transformers Studios Series Voyager 99 Battletrap is out now at The Falcon’s Hangar, RoboRobo, MYTOY, and 1TOY.

Transformers Studios Series Leader 101 Scourge

Standing at 8.5 inches tall, the Scourge toy looms above every character in the lineup – and rightfully so. The Deception is, after all, a menacing and threatening presence in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts trailer, having pierced poor Bumblebee in the trailer. Turn up the destruction factor by wielding it with a blade accessory, detachable blaster, and claw hand attachments in both modes, which can be converted to-and-fro in 31 steps.

Transformers Studios Series Leader 101 Scourge is out now at The Falcon’s Hangar, RoboRobo, MYTOY, and 1TOY.
