For those unfamiliar with the franchise, God Eater is set in a post-apocalyptic world, in which players are “God Eaters” – individuals who hunt a large variety of monsters called Aragami. The games are well-known for allowing detailed customisation of characters, as well as unique weapons that can transform during the course of battle. The franchise also boasts a strong storyline that has spawned several manga, light novel and anime adaptations.
Speaking with Series Producer Yusuke Tomizawa and Game Director Hiroshi Yoshimura, the duo also emphasised the team tactics required to manage the player’s party of four, weapon abilities and the game’s unique design, especially the varied designs of the Aragami, and the exaggerated oversized weapons used by the God Eaters that are signature to the series.
Both titles will release in Summer 2016 for the PS4, PS Vita and PC. Something for the purists (like me) to note, the localised versions will feature full English voice dubbing and subtitles, and not include the original Japanese voices.
While waiting for the games to release, you can watch the God Eater anime for free on DAISUKI.net.
