Reinventing a franchise is never easy, but bringing back a character as iconic as Dexter Morgan takes things to another level. Now, a major casting update from Deadline has added even more excitement to the mix, with Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage officially joining the series in a crucial role.
Dinklage will portray Leon Prater, a billionaire venture capitalist whose public persona as a generous philanthropist hides something much darker beneath the surface. Described as the main antagonist of the season, his character will operate alongside Charley, his head of security, played by Uma Thurman. Charley, a former Special Ops officer, is known for her precision and ability to handle high-level security operations.
Dinklage’s involvement marks a significant addition to the franchise, bringing an actor with an extensive and celebrated career. Best known for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones, he has also made notable appearances in films such as The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, and The Toxic Avenger.
Michael C. Hall is set to return as Dexter in Dexter: Resurrection, joined by franchise veterans David Zayas and James Remar, who will reprise their roles as Angel Batista and Harry Morgan.
