Game of Thrones’ Peter Dinklage Cast In ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ Sequel Series

Reinventing a franchise is never easy, but bringing back a character as iconic as Dexter Morgan takes things to another level. After the shocking conclusion of 2022’s Dexter: New Blood, many believed the story had finally reached its end. That assumption proved wrong when Dexter: Resurrection was announced, promising another chapter in the life of everyone’s favourite serial killer. Now, a major casting update from Deadline has added even more excitement to the mix, with Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage officially joining the series in a crucial role.

Dinklage will portray Leon Prater, a billionaire venture capitalist whose public persona as a generous philanthropist hides something much darker beneath the surface. Described as the main antagonist of the season, his character will operate alongside Charley, his head of security, played by Uma Thurman. Charley, a former Special Ops officer, is known for her precision and ability to handle high-level security operations.

Michael C. Hall is set to return as Dexter in Dexter: Resurrection, joined by franchise veterans David Zayas and James Remar, who will reprise their roles as Angel Batista and Harry Morgan. Jack Alcott, who played Harrison Morgan in Dexter: New Blood, will also return. With a mix of familiar faces and new threats, the stakes have never been higher for Dexter’s next chapter.

Meanwhile, the Dexter universe continues to expand with multiple projects in development. Dexter: Original Sin, a prequel series exploring Dexter’s early years, debuted in December 2024 and has received positive attention despite featuring a new cast. Another prequel, focused on the infamous Trinity Killer played by John Lithgow, is also in the works, though casting details remain under wraps.

The biggest question surrounding Dexter: Resurrection remains how Dexter himself will return. In the final episode of Dexter: New Blood, titled ‘Sins of the Father’, he appeared to meet his end, seemingly closing the book on his story. Fans have speculated about the possibility of a fake-out or an entirely new direction for the character’s arc. With little information available about the exact premise, theories continue to swirl about what Resurrection truly means for Dexter Morgan. Luckily, fans won’t have to wait much longer to see how everything unfolds when the series arrives in summer 2025.
