‘Frozen 3’ To Bring On The Chills In Nov 2027

After an announced delay, Frozen 3 will now skate into theatres when Thanksgiving lands in 2027. Disney has firmed up the release date for the threequel, set to bow in on 24 November 2027 and coincide with the national holiday celebrated in the U.S.

The update follows the reveal of the first concept art for the Arendelle-set animated feature during this year’s D23 Expo, with a fourth film confirmed to be in the works. In it, Elsa is seen riding on a horse, while Anna is on a different steed with Olaf.

Released in 2013, the original Frozen movie grew into a massive sensation for mature and young audiences alike, grossing nearly US$1.3 billion worldwide. It tells the tale of two royal sisters, Elsa (Idina Menzel) and her younger sibling Anna (Kristen Bell), as they encounter new allies on their journey. “Let It Go” and “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” emerged as its most popular songs, and a Broadway musical was subsequently produced.

The 2019 sequel would become even more successful, earning a whopping US$1.45 billion at the global box office. Frozen 3 was initially slated to open in 2026, but faced delay due to the pandemic and the strikes in Hollywood. This new date is a nice nod to both of the first two Frozen movies, which were also released around Thanksgiving.

Additionally, the House of Mouse scheduled Pixar’s new movie, Hoppers, for 6 March 2026. Starring Jon Hamm (Mad Men, Shrek Forever After) and Bobby Moynihan (DuckTales, The Secret Life of Pets) in voice roles, it follows the body-swapping adventures of a beaver and a human.
