‘Fortnite Zero Hour’ Live Event Draws 10.5 Million Players, With 3 Million More Streaming Viewers

Epic Games’ massive Battle Royale shooter Fortnite just had an equally massive live event, titled Zero Hour, and it was a one for the ages, drawing in 10.5 million players in an epic showdown with 3 million more tuning in to watch via online streamers.

Held to celebrate the game as it shifts from Chapter Six to Seven, Zero Hour featured players teaming up with heroic icons that the title featured in the past, such as Godzilla, KPop Demon Hunters, and Superman, as they gathered to finally defeat the game’s main antagonist, the Dark Presence. It’s no wonder that the event gained such an astonishing turnout, a feat announced via its official social media pages.

Seemingly self-aware of how much this hero mash-up feels just like Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame, the event also featured a finale where all its cameo characters warped in via portals to face down against the big baddie, with players even able to join in first-hand as they rushed to glory across the battlefield. Unsurprisingly, this sparked a wave of fan creations online of the moment, such as one user, ABaldy64, who overlaid the iconic Endgame score over the whole sequence.

Apart from the massive battle and all the cameos, players were also given a look at what’s to come via a Chapter Seven trailer, which teased the game’s upcoming content, such as a new map themed after iconic locations like Hollywood and Area 51, alongside notable gameplay additions in store, like wingsuits or the Reboot van potentially being drivable, with the trailer closing with the appearance of the Last Reality’s mothership.

Fortnite Chapter Seven: Pacific Break is now in full swing and will run until 4 March 2026.
