But The Bride isn’t the only Frankenstein movie in the works, as filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro (The Shape of Water) is also looking to bring his version to the big screen, with Euphoria star Jacob Elordi in the lead role.

Set in 1930s Chicago, the film’s logline teases an intriguing premise. A lonely Frankenstein travels to 1930s Chicago to seek the aide of a Dr. Euphronius in creating a companion for himself. The two reinvigorate a murdered young woman and the Bride is born. She is beyond what either of them intended, igniting a combustible romance, the attention of the police and a wild and radical social movement.

The Bride is slated to open in theatres on 2 October 2025.
