First Looks: ‘Avatar The Last Airbender’ Live-Action Gathers The Gaang Together

The Gaang is back, as Netflix’s Avatar The Last Airbender teases a reunion of the iconic trio up against an unknown foe in a preview teaser image. The highly-anticipated series has garnered plenty of attention from fans, who praised the casting of fan favourites.

The teaser image that dropped gives fans a closer look into the detailed costumes the show uses, with Aang (Gordon Cormier) getting into airbending mode, Katara (Kiawentiio) with her waterbending, and Sokka (Ian Ousley) with his trusty boomerang.

Other notable additions to the cast include Daniel Dae Kim, who has voiced various characters on Avatar The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, as Fire Lord Ozai, and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (The Mandalorian, Kim’s Convenience) as General Iroh.

Despite the departure of original creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino, the series promises to “unravel storylines and remix them in a new way.”

Avatar The Last Airbender is set to premiere on Netflix on 22 February 2024. A teaser was released last month, with more to come as its release date approaches.
