A new Fallout game may not be dropping anytime soon, but a return to the Vault is in order. Following a Season 2 renewal, Amazon’s highly popular Fallout series is set to start filming in November, according to actress Leslie Uggams, who plays Vault 33 resident Betty Pearson in the show.

The Emmy-nominated star confirmed the date in an interview with Screenrant, who expressed excitement at reprising her role. Presumably, the character will maintain a strong presence in the sophomore outing, with Uggams teasing her character’s involvement:
“That is an amazing, amazing show. I am with the Vault People, so I didn’t get to see what the Earth people were doing. So when it came on, I was blown away. But Betty’s got some things up her sleeve. Just stay tuned.”
Not much else is known about Fallout Season 2, including a release date, but the extensive cast leaves plenty of narrative potential to be explored. The news comes nearly two weeks after main lead Ella Purnell revealed that she hadn’t seen the script yet and had no information about shooting details.
“I’m excited, I really cannot wait. I don’t have anything, I don’t know when we’re going to do it, I don’t have a script. I have literally nothing,” she said then. I don’t even know if I’m in it. I hope I’m in it. I think I’m in it. No, I’m probably in it…I really want to get going. I need to start practising my accent again and getting back into the Lucy headspace.”

The first season of Fallout aired in April 2024 on Prime Video, featuring Purnell as Lucy, Aaron Moten as Maximus, Walton Goggins as The Ghoul / Cooper Howard, Kyle MacLachlan as Hank MacLean, Moisés Arias as Norm MacLean, Xelia Mendes-Joeditorines as Dane, Johnny Pemberton as Thaddeus, Frances Turner as Barb Howard, and more. It received high praise from critics and fans alike, sparking a surge in player numbers for the games across the franchise on Steam.
