The EOY J-Culture Festival, Singapore’s largest year-end event dedicated to Japanese pop culture, is set to return with a spectacular edition on 21 and 22 December at Suntec City Convention Centre. Expanding to two halls (Halls 405 & 406) this year, the festival promises an even more immersive experience filled with dynamic performances, creative showcases, and a range of cultural activities.

Organised by a dedicated team of anime and cosplay enthusiasts, the EOY J-Culture Festival has evolved into a must-attend event for fans of J-pop, anime, and cosplay. This year, the festival will host over 30 stage shows daily, featuring a mix of local and international talent.

This year’s lineup includes five acclaimed International Guest Artistes from across Asia:

  • Icezu (Thailand): An idol from the girl group “ANGeVIL,” known for her charismatic performances.
  • Ola Aphrodite (Indonesia): A popular cosplayer and performer, returning to EOY for another dazzling appearance.
  • Yakko (Japan): A former member of the idol group Q’ulle and the dance group DANCEROID, brings her vibrant energy to the stage.
  • Wata (Japan): Renowned for her choreography for the famous VTuber Houshou Marine.
  • RuRu (Taiwan): Also known as Ru’s Piano, this celebrated pianist is famous for her renditions of anime and game soundtracks.

Additionally, the festival will host a variety of live music, dance acts, and talent showcases. Notable performers include Cheryl Rein, an all-rounder in fashion content creation who excels as an emcee, singer, and dancer; HalcyonMusic, who captivates the crowd with mesmerizing anime music on the piano; madLABS, a dynamic dance group; RYSE, a charismatic dance duo; and Kyururun!, a lively quartet known for their harmonious dance performances.

Creators’ Alley is another highlight of the festival, serving as a vibrant marketplace that showcases the talents of over 250 creators. Attendees can explore a diverse range of creations from anime-style illustrations and fan merchandise to custom nail art and unique jewellery. This area celebrates the creativity of both local and regional artists and offers fans the chance to engage directly with the creators. Highlights include appearances by professional cosplayer Xiaoyukiko, multi-talented artist Samara Gan, and Black Crow Taxidermy & Art, Singapore’s only commercial taxidermy studio.

Cosplay is a central feature of the festival, with fans able to witness elaborate costumes, meet cosplayers, and capture picture-perfect moments in a stunning visual showcase of creativity and fandom.

The festival also offers a variety of side activities such as:

  • Chronicles Inc: A collector’s paradise with action figures and exclusive anime memorabilia.
  • Game Academia: A hub for tabletop gaming enthusiasts featuring games like Grand Archive, Dungeons & Dragons, and Warhammer 40K.
  • Cultural Workshops: Hosted by student cultural clubs from the National University of Singapore, Singapore University of Technology and Design, and Temasek Polytechnic, these workshops offer hands-on experiences in traditional Japanese crafts such as sensu (folding fans), uchiwa (flat fans), tsumami kanzashi (folded hairpins), and teru teru bozu (weather dolls).
