Dreamworks’ ‘The Wild Robot’ Drops Gorgeous First Trailer

Dreamworks has a new movie in the works, and The Wild Robot’s first trailer does not disappoint. The film is based on award winning author Peter Brown’s The Wild Robot children’s book, which has a robot named Roz awaken in a lush forest and discovers the beauty of nature.

Most of the trailer looks like something out of a children’s book, as the animated movie sticks pretty close to its source material. Roz, played by Lupita Nyong’o ( Us ) is programmed to be a robot, but discovers they can experience emotions, befriending a fox named Fink (Pedro Pascal) and eventually becomes part of the woodland creatures’ family, raising a baby goose. The idyllic peace of the woods, however, is soon shattered as a wildfire ravages the forest.

Mark Hamill (Star Wars) will also be voice acting an unknown character. along with Matt Berry (What We Do in the Shadows).
