DJI Updates Their Action Cam Design With The New DJI Action 2

Modular seems to be the name of the game. And for anyone who has bought a DJI product before, each incremental add-on can weigh quite a bit on the wallet eventually.

Gone is the GoPro clone of old, the new DJI Action 2 is all lens. The entire front side of the action camera is a lens with the rear being a 1.76-inch OLED touch screen. If you require to see yourself, especially when using it as a selfie cam, an additional OLED screen can be attached via the bottom of the camera unit via a magnetic connector.

Featuring a 1/1.7-inch sensor, the f/2.8 DJI Action 2 is able to record up to 4k/120fps and includes a 155° field of view which is even wider than the human eye. Weighing in at 56 grams, the DJI Action is definitely lightweight enough to be brought just about anywhere. It certainly helps that the camera is IP68 rated as well which means you can safely bring it out into the rain if needed.

For anything more, and you’d want to invest in a whole slew of accessories that DJI has lined up for the Action 2. With no less than 10 accessories available from macro lenses to adapter mounts, there’s plenty of opportunities to gear yourself up for pretty much any occasion.

The only worry here is that most of the accessories for the DJI Action 2 seem to be magnetically attached. It remains to be seen if the hold is sufficient to keep the camera in place in the most punishing of scenarios.

The DJI Action 2 will be available for purchase from store.dji.com, Lazada or Shopee. The DJI Action 2 Dual-Screen Combo retails for S$779 and includes the DJI Action 2 Camera Unit, Front Touchscreen Module, Magnetic Lanyard, Magnetic Ball-Joint Adapter Mount, and Magnetic Adapter Mount. The DJI Action 2 Power Combo retails for S$639 and includes DJI Action 2 Camera Unit, Power Module, Magnetic Lanyard, and Magnetic Adapter Mount.
