Disney had plenty of exciting announcements in store last Friday, where it unveiled its film roster until 2026, including the highly-anticipated The Mandalorian & Grogu Star Wars movie, Toy Story 5, and officially pushed back the Moana live-action movie that was set to premiere in 2025.
Star Wars will return to the big screen for the first time in 7 years in 2026, after The Rise of Skywalker’s disappointing box office performance, and who better to carry on the torch than fan favourites Din Djarin (The Mandalorian) and the adorable young Grogu? The Mandalorian & Grogu is set to release on 22 May 2026, just a few weeks after Star Wars Day.
Speculation on the untitled Pixar movie in the lineup has come to an end, now that Disney confirmed that the slot on the release schedule was for Toy Story 5, which will premiere on 19 June 2026. Tim Allen and Tom Hanks will likely return for the film as Buzz and Woody, reuniting the duo.
The previously announced live-action Moana movie is setting sail a year later than expected, and will shift its release date from 27 June 2025 to 10 July 2026, though reasons for the change were not made publicly known. Tron: Ares also got a 10 October 2026 release date, as the film ramps up production.
We’re excited to see what Disney has in store up until 2026, and the lineup seems promising enough to get hyped for.
