Buzz And Woody Reunite: Tim Allen And Tom Hanks Invited For ‘Toy Story 5’

The much-anticipated Toy Story 5 may witness the return of the dynamic duo, Tim Allen and Tom Hanks.

During a chat with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, Allen, the voice behind Buzz Lightyear, spilled the beans that Disney has extended an invitation to both him and Hanks for the fifth installment of the beloved Toy Story series. Hanks is known for lending his voice to the iconic character Woody.

When Fallon quizzed Allen about the potential fifth film, the actor revealed, “Bob Iger, head of Disney, said it was on and actually said it was going to happen. They have reached out to Tom and I to reprise the roles. They’re not saying anything about it… You wonder if four was too many. Is five going to be too much?”

Allen also hinted at the dedication of the scriptwriter, stating, “According to the scuttlebutt, the writer that’s doing it wrote one of the better ones and said, ‘If I didn’t get this right, I wouldn’t do it.’ It could be a very, very interesting way to reunite it.”

Allen had previously expressed his eagerness to reprise his role as Buzz in Toy Story 5. In February this year, he wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), “See ya soon Woody, you are a sad strange little man and you have my pity. And off we go to a number 5! To infinity and beyond!”

While Allen seems ready for the adventure, it remains uncertain whether Hanks will return to voice Woody. After all, the ending of Toy Story 4 seemingly wrapped up a significant chapter in the franchise and served as a potential conclusion to Woody’s journey.

A release date for Toy Story 5 has yet to be unveiled.
