Diablo IV Season 1 – Start Time

Season 1 of Diablo IV begins on 20 July at 10 PM GMT-7, which is 21 July, 1 PM GMT+8. This will be the same time that the Battle Pass officially kicks off with 90 tiers of rewards. A pre-season patch will drop two days before to prep players’ games for the incoming content.

Gameplay Details

In Sanctuary, a dangerous new threat now roams the land in the form of Malignant Monsters. Players will join forces with Cormond, a former priest, to stop the spread of the Malignant at all costs. This means fighting the Infestation by destroying these Malignant Monsters and drawing the corruption from them, trapping their Malignant Hearts, which can then be inserted into Rings and Amulets.

Every Elite has the chance to be a Malignant Monster, defeat it to claim a Malignant Heart, with a total of 32 different ones with various effects to slot into the accessories. In Season 1, each Malignant Heart and your jewellery will have three different possible colours that need to match if you wish to use them as part of your build in Diablo IV.

For players hoping to lessen the grind, Malignant Tunnels around Sanctuary will be the best place to farm these corrupted beings, including a new boss, Varshan the Consumed. In addition, there are six new Unique items and seven Legendary Aspects thrown in as well.

Leveling up a new character for Season 1 is going to be easier, as the previous renown gained from discovering the map and the benefits from the Altars of Lilith players have found well remain in Diablo IV. Even mounts can be used immediately if the function has been unlocked.

After each season concludes, all characters will be migrated to the Eternal Realm, where players will be able to access them permanently.
