This September, Guardians will be able to do battle on the Moon once more in Shadowkeep, a new DLC for Bungie’s acclaimed looter-shooter Destiny 2.
The trailer you see above was released recently at GuardianCon, and showcases the various locales players can visit in the Shadowkeep DLC. While the moon seemed rather generic in the first game, its revamped state makes it look rather grim and, if one were to be a bit frank, a little like Mordor from The Lord of the Rings.
According to Bungie, this version of Shadowkeep will be twice as big as what we’ve seen in the first game. This is in line with Bungie’s intention of fleshing Shadowkeep out, with new missions, quests and a new Raid set to be the highlights of the expansion.
The enigmatic Eris Morn also makes a return in this expansion, and the Flood-like Hive will feature as the primary antagonists of Shadowkeep.
Like the Forsaken DLC, Shadowkeep will be available as a standalone expansion, meaning players don’t need to purchase other expansions in order to play it.
Destiny 2: Shadowkeep will launch on September 17 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Forgive him in advance if he suddenly blurts out terms such as “Mind Flayer” and “Magic Missile”, because never once does he stop thinking about his next Dungeons & Dragons game.
