‘Death Stranding 2: On the Beach’ Listing Suggests Imminent PC Launch

Sam Porter Bridges may, well, bridge the gap between the PlayStation 5 and PC earlier than expected, as a listing for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach was spotted on the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) website.

As noted by Gematsu, the now-removed rating was published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, with an identical entry to the PS5 version suggesting that additional content will likely not be included, unlike 2021’s Death Stranding: Director’s Cut.

The first game was released on PS4 in November 2019 and hit PC in July 2020, marking an eight-month gap in between, so expect a similar timeframe for the sequel. In fact, it could even be earlier, which would mark one of the quickest turnarounds for a first-party PlayStation exclusive ever.

Considering how The Game Awards 2025 is around the corner, taking place on 11 December (or 12 December, depending on timezone), chances are that the PC port will be announced then. The highly anticipated title arrived as a PS5 exclusive earlier in June and is in the running for Best Game of the Year, alongside Clair Obscur: Expedition, Donkey Kong Bananza, Hades II, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.

As for Hideo Kojima and the world of Death Stranding, things are just getting started. An animated series is slated for release on Disney+ in 2027, featuring a completely original story set in the same post-apocalyptic world that follows “a young man and woman as they set out on an adventure”. There’s also a separate live-action film adaptation in the works, but don’t hold out hope for a third game — Kojima previously shared that while he has written a concept, there are no plans to make it.
