Aquaman director James Wan is set to executive produce the series, with Battlestar Galactica and Netflix’s Daredevil’s Mark Verheiden and IT‘s Gary Dauerman to serve as writers and showrunners.
The show will follow the story of CDC researcher Abby Arcane, who returns to her childhood home to investigate a deadly swamp virus. There, she falls in love with scientist Alec Holland, only for him to die tragically. However, Abby soon discovers that the love of her life may not be dead after all, and that the swamp may contain secrets both wondrous and horrifying.
The character of Swamp Thing was introduced in 1971 and has been passed through the hands of writers like Alan Moore, Brian K. Vaughan, Mark Millar, and Scott Snyder. The character made its feature film debut in 1982’s Swamp Thing, directed by Wes Craven, and has since had both live-action and animated TV series.
This version of DC’s Swamp Thing is looking at a 2019 release, and will be broadcasted on DC Universe along with Titans, Young Justice: Outsiders and Harley Quinn.
You could call Jeanne a dabbler – anything she isn’t yet a fan of, she will be eventually. The list of things she’s into is only rivalled by the things she plans on getting into. Overanalysing makes everything fun.
