The first season of DAN DA DAN whipped up a tantalising appetiser of visually arresting animation, dynamic action, and rom-com charm, but the paranormal chaos is just getting started. Following the conclusion of its first season, the popular anime based on Yukinobu Tatsu’s manga has been renewed for Season 2.
As announced on the official X/Twitter account, the forthcoming sequel is slated to air sometime in July 2025. Crunchyroll will stream the series, with availability on Netflix likely secured for selected territories with access to the first season, including Singapore.
While story details remain sparse, fans can expect more occult and supernatural shenanigans involving protagonist duo Momo Ayase (Shion Wakayama, SSSS.Dynazenon) and Ken “Okarun” Takakura (Natsuki Hanae, Demon Slayer: Kimestu no Yaiba), who are joined by Aira Shiratori (Ayane Sakura, My Hero Academia) and most recently, Jin Enjoji / Jiji (Kaito Ishikawa, Haikyu!!).

Helmed by Scott Pilgrim Takes Off and Star Wars: Visions studio Science SARU, the DAN DA DAN anime first premiered in Japan on 3 October. Fuga Yamashiro (Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!) serves as director, while Hiroshi Seko (Jujutsu Kaisen) pens and supervises the script. Composer kensuke ushio (Devilman Crybaby) is in charge of scoring, accompanying hip-hop duo Creepy Nuts and ZUTOMAYO in performing the opening and ending theme songs respectively: “Otonoke” and “TAIDADA”.
The original manga is currently ongoing in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ digital manga, with 17 volumes released in Japan to date. “When high schooler Momo, from a family of spirit mediums, first meets her classmate Okarun, an occult geek, they argue — Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts,” the synopsis reads.
“When it turns out both phenomena are real, Momo awakens a hidden power and Okarun gains the power of a curse. Together, they must challenge the paranormal forces threatening their world.”
Season 2 begins airing in July next year.
