The Critical Role animated series, The Legend of Vox Machina is premiering a week ahead of its initial schedule on 28 January 2022. It is headed to Amazon’s Prime Video streaming platform, and the new trailer shows off the irreverent humour, vibrant characters, and the unapologetic level of violence.
From the trailer, it is clear that the series won’t take itself too seriously, won’t shy away from gore, and won’t be afraid to flip the bird again and again. Also, it is clear that the characters aren’t goody-two-shoes. They are, first and foremost, adventurers who care more about their survival than some nebulous idea of righteousness, which is par for the course when it comes to tabletop role-playing games. Thus, even from just the small snippet, the Dungeons & Dragons influence is already shining through.
For fans of Critical Role and Dungeons & Dragons, this is a must-watch series. Come 28 January, you will be able to check out the series at Amazon Prime Video.
