With the increased popularity of the Fallout games after the TV series’ release, there’s one question on everyone’s minds: when is the next Fallout game releasing? With studio Bethesda currently working on The Elder Scrolls 6, we might not see Fallout 5 anytime soon, but Microsoft is reportedly pushing for its release, according to insider Jez Corden.
The most recent game, Fallout 4, was released in 2015, and it’s been nine years since we’ve had a new game, making it the longest-running gap between games. Bethesda is focusing on The Elder Scrolls 6 and will likely start on the fifth game in the near future. As the TV show is a continuation of the events of the games, there’s a chance elements of the show could end up in Fallout 5, or influence its plot in a big way.
One possible fix could be releasing a sequel to Fallout: New Vegas developed by Obsidian in the meantime, but it’s anyone’s guess until more details surface. In the meantime, the show gives the games a new dimension, and the characters’ official stats have been revealed, so you can spend the wait starting a new playthrough as the show’s protagonists.
