Fans of all things Critical Role have something they can look forward to for January 2022. The Critical Role animated series, The Legend of Vox Machina, will premiere a week ahead of its initial schedule, on 28 January 2022, from the previous 4 February 2022.
In a year where delays are the norm, this comes as a pleasant and welcome surprise. Critical Role, which started as a live stream of talented voice actors playing the tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) is blossoming into a multimedia TTRPG franchise in its own right, with a full-length D&D campaign book being released in March 2022, and of course, the upcoming animated series.
The Legend of Vox Machina started as a Kickstarter campaign in 2019, raising over US$11 million, many times more than its initial US$750,000 goal. The series will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video, with the second season already in the works. There is no better time to be a Critical Role and D&D fan.
