Cowboy Bebop Cancelled By Netflix After One Season

Guess we won’t be seeing you, space cowboy. After releasing its first season less than a month ago, Cowboy Bebop has been cancelled by Netflix.

Fans have been looking forward to the live-action adaptation of the popular Japanese anime for a long time. However, when the 10-episode series got released, it only garnered a 46 percent positive rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. Fans gave the show a 56 percent rating.

Cowboy Bebop starred John Cho, Mustafa Shakir and Daniella Pineda as three bounty hunters, aka “space cowboys”, trying to outrun their own pasts. The three work together to hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals for a price.

André Nemec served as showrunner, with original anime series director Shinichirō Watanabe as a consultant on the series. Original composer Yoko Kanno returned for the live-action adaptation too.
