The happiest place on Earth just got a little bit closer to home. No, Disneyland isn’t coming to Singapore – though the Disney Cruise Line is – but hop on a two-and-a-half-hour flight to Bangkok and you have the Disney100 Village.
Disney100 Village is an immersive exhibition located at Asiatique in Bangkok, Thailand to celebrate the studio’s 100 years of making sweet childhood memories for fans all over the world. The exhibition features a series of attractions and zones focused on some of Disney’s most beloved IPs including Mickey and friends, Frozen, Star Wars and Marvel.
Some of the exhibits and attractions are free while some others require paid access. Among the free attractions is the Star Wars Experience where fans of the galaxy, far, far away can jump into a flight simulator area and go up close and personal with iconic vehicles in the galaxy like a gigantic TIE Fighter, AT-M6 vehicles and more.
But out of all the experiences, comic book fans will likely enjoy the Marvel Universe zone. At ‘Marvel Universe: The World Outside Your Window’, fans can immerse themselves in a specially curated gallery featuring 100 of Marvel’s greatest comics from its early days in 1939 to today. Each selected comic comes straight from the Marvel archives and is accompanied with a brief commentary on how it has shaped the Marvel Universe fans love today.
Aside from a gallery, fans can look forward to plenty of photo opportunities and interactive booths where they can try out Thor’s hammer and step through the sling ring with Doctor Strange amongst others.
Those who love a good happily-ever-after will find joy at the Frozen Exhibition. The exhibit is inspired by classic scenes from the two Frozen movies and will feature life-sized statues from the fan-favourite movie. One of the zone’s highlights is an interactive augmented reality technology experience that will make fans feel closer to the Frozen franchise.
The Disney100 Village will run until 31 July. Tickets start from THB1,419 for adults and THB1,279 for kids and students on weekdays. Weekend prices are THB1,719 and THB1,549 respectively.
