Disney And Singapore To Launch New Disney Cruise Line And Ships For Southeast Asia In 2025

Local waters are about to get a lot busier, as Disney Cruise Line and Singapore Tourism Board (STB) are bringing magical cruise vacations to Southeast Asia for the first time. The country will play host to a brand-new Disney cruise ship starting 2025, with the collaboration lasting at least five years.

“This is a very exciting year for The Walt Disney Company — 2023 marks our 100th anniversary,” Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, said. “As part of this, Disney Cruise Line is currently undergoing an ambitious expansion with new ships and new destinations around the world. We are incredibly excited to make Singapore home port to our seventh-launched ship, which will sail from here year-round starting in 2025.”

The new ship will feature Disney experiences that include dedicated spaces and activities designed for guests of all ages, as well as mascot appearances from Captain Mickey Mouse, Captain Minnie Mouse, Disney Princesses, Marvel Superheroes, and more. It joins five existing ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet (Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Wish), with a sixth one, the Disney Treasure, poised to set sail in 2024.

The joint initiative also brings the first Disney Cruise Line home port in the region. In November last year, it was reported that the company had acquired the unfinished Global Dream cruise ship under construction in Germany, which was originally built for Genting Hong Kong. The House of Mouse has since confirmed that this very same vessel is the one being used for the new cruise ship coming to Singapore and Southeast Asia.
