‘Captain America: Brave New World’ Has Only One Post Credits Scene

Marvel Studios has built a reputation for delivering post-credits scenes that tease the future of its cinematic universe, and Captain America: Brave New World is no exception. While the absence of a mid-credits scene might come as a surprise, those who stick around until the very end will be rewarded with a somewhat crucial end-credits sequence that directly connects to Avengers: Doomsday and hints at larger threats looming on the horizon.

**SPOILERS AHEAD!!!! PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK**

Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, this new chapter follows Sam Wilson as he fully steps into the mantle of Captain America. With Steve Rogers no longer in the picture, Sam faces the daunting task of carrying the shield while navigating a world filled with political instability and shifting alliances. Meanwhile, Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, played by Harrison Ford, has taken office as the new President of the United States, bringing his own history of questionable decisions into the mix. Their past encounters have been anything but friendly, but as new dangers emerge, the two must determine whether they can put aside their differences for the greater good.

Directed by Julius Onah, Captain America: Brave New World features a cast that includes Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, Danny Ramirez as Joaquín Torres, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Harrison Ford as President Ross, Liv Tyler as Betty Ross, and Giancarlo Esposito as Sidewinder. Shira Haas appears as Ruth Bat-Seraph, also known as Sabra, while Xosha Roquemore rounds out the ensemble as Agent Taylor.

Fans expecting a moment in between the credits will have to wait until the very end for the film’s lone stinger. This approach isn’t unheard of, as other recent Marvel projects, such as Black Widow and Deadpool & Wolverine, also opted for a single post-credits sequence instead of multiple teases.

'Captain America: Brave New World' Has Only One Post Credits Scene

The Captain America: Brave New World post-credits scene features Sam Wilson stepping into the high-security prison known as the Raft, where he meets Samuel Sterns, better known as The Leader. Played once again by Tim Blake Nelson, the character delivers an ominous warning that suggests a looming multiversal crisis. As Sam approaches, he jokingly reminds Sterns of a past bet, but the imprisoned scientist remains unfazed, responding with, “We share the same world — don’t be so sure it’s the one you would die to save. It’s coming. I’ve seen it in the probabilities, seen it as plain as day. All you heroes protecting this world… Do you think you’re the only ones? Do you think this is the only world? We’ll see what happens when you have to protect this place from the others.”

This moment serves as a direct setup for Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars, reinforcing the idea that the MCU is heading toward yet another full-scale multiversal conflict. With Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness laying the groundwork for these kinds of threats, Sterns’ words add mystery to what lies ahead.
