Ubisoft has just confirmed that their upcoming action-adventure video game Beyond Good and Evil 2 will not be making an appearance at E3 2019 this year, but fans will still be getting more information about the game’s status via a livestream that will be heald before Ubisoft’s major press conference.

The upcoming livestream will be the fifth instalment of what Ubisoft calls the “Space Monkey Report”, an official communications channel between the developers of Beyond Good and Evil, and the fans.

In the last update which took place in December last year, a walkthrough of the game’s pre-alpha demo was shown. It is not entirely clear what will be shown to fans during the next livestream but it seems that there will be no new footages, with Ubisoft saying that the developers are choosing to focus on “core development milestones”, and that they will show more gameplay footages “when the time is right”.

Fans have waited for a decade and a half for a sequel to the original Beyond Good and Evil, with the sequel only being officially confirmed in 2017. The fans are understandably excited about the sequel and from what is known about the game so far, it seems that they have cause to be, with the game proving to be certainly more ambitious than the original story. The developers have even abandoned Jade, the main character of the first game, in favour of a character creator.

The fifth Space Monkey Report for Beyond Good and Evil 2 will be taking place on June 5th, at 9am PT (June 6, 12am SGT).
