Music soothes the savage beast. Video game music though? It really depends; sometimes it makes you hyper. Sometimes it calms you down.

With many composers and audio artists making the video game soundtrack genre more varied as the years go by, the bar of quality keeps on rising higher and higher. Orchestras, old-school 8-bit nods, remixes from online portals aplenty: there’s never a dull moment when it comes to aural pleasures from video games.

So what’s the best video game soundtrack ever for last year? It’s obviously hard to pick one, so here’s a video that I did to address the matter; it hearkens back to the good old days when I was doing GameSpot videos.

Without further ado, hit play & let the music flow!
