Benedict Cumberbatch Says Avengers 5 ‘Cooking Up A Storm’, Filming Begins 2025

It’s been five years since we last had an Avengers film in theatres, after the climactic events of Avengers: Endgame that shook up the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and for eager movie buffs who have been waiting, Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch has a promising update in an interview with YouTube channel Still Watching Netflix.

While Marvel hasn’t revealed any information on the next instalment in the franchise, the film is set to come out in 2026, and Cumberbatch said that he was “very much looking forward to Avengers next year, which is cooking up a storm”, which is in line with the filming timeline.

But after Kang actor Jonathan Majors was found guilty of reckless assault and harassment, the character’s future remains uncertain, with no recasting news just yet. Will Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange be in the next Avengers film? The actor remained cryptic on his involvement, neither confirming nor denying his potential appearance. At the end of Multiverse of Madness, Doctor Strange and Clea (Charlize Theron) travel through a portal to stop a multiversal incursion, and with Kang being heavily involved in the multiverse, there’s a possibility he could show up after all.
