Amidst a weekend of plentiful announcements at the D23 Expo for Disney properties, this particular one may have slipped through the cracks but it definitely warrants a mention. A partnership between Disney and Lenovo will culminate in a new augmented reality (AR) experience simply dubbed Star Wars: Jedi Challenges.
If you ever wanted to be a Jedi, this could be as close as you can get. The experience will require the use of a new AR headset, designed to brings Star Wars fans deeper into the universe they love, and allowing them to recapture some of the iconic moments that are in the films like never before.
One such experience discussed is the Holochess scene on board the Millennium Falcon in A New Hope, when it was first conceived we definitely did not have the technology to replicate that particular experience, but now we do! And of course, how can you leave out the Jedi in any noteworthy Star Wars experience? There is also a lightsaber-esque product that is in the works, so your dream of being a Padawan may not be too far away.
