Award Winning Game ‘OMORI’ Gets Manga Adaptation

OMORI fans, you’re in luck, as the hit indie game will be getting a manga adaptation soon. The game announced the news on X/Twitter on Wednesday, and fans have been excited about the OMORI manga adaptation ever since.

Artist Nui Konoito is illustrating the manga, which will be serialised in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon, a magazine that features manga anthologies. The manga “will be made for both longtime fans of the game and for a new audience experiencing the story for the first time”, hopefully drawing more fans to play the game and likely including some easter eggs.

Previously in 2022, OMOCAT, the creator of the game, hosted an exhibition in Japan celebrating the game’s art, and recently held the game’s first concert in November 2023. There is also an online merchandise store selling limited-edition items from the game.

While there is no confirmed start date for OMORI’s manga run in Monthly Afternoon, the game can be downloaded on Steam.
