ASUS has announced the 2022 lineup of its Vivobook series, targeted at creators and lifestyle laptop users. This includes its main Pro series, the light S series, and also exclusive limited-edition 13 Slate OLED laptops created with world-renowned artists Philip Colbert and Steven Harrington.
ASUS Vivobook Pro series
Targeted at aspiring content creators, the ASUS Pro series has been updated for 2022 – with either 12th Gen Intel Core i9 12900H or AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processors, up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics, and 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD.
The series comes in 16-, 15.6- and 14.5-inch variants. The 16 and 15.6-inch models have a 120Hz OLED display with a 0.2ms response time, and have 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut.
For connections, you have an assortment of ports — Thunderbolt 4 or USB4, HDMI 2.1, USB 3.2 Gen 1, USB 2.0 — a microSD card reader, 2.5 Gbe LAN and WiFi 6E. You also get ASUS DialPad virtual rotary control, up to 90 Wh or battery, a Harman Kardon-certified Dolby Atmos audio system, and a full HD webcam.
ASUS Vivobook S series
The thinnest and lightest in the Vivobook family — at 17.9mm thickness and 1.6kg in weight — the Vivobook S series is for those who need portability with style.
It comes in 16, 15.6, 14.5 and 14-inch screen sizes, in either metal lids or all-metal chassis depending on the models. You also get a choice pick of colours: black, grey, green, and silver (again depending on the model). These screens can be opened up to 180°, one of the signature features of the S series.
The screens use OLED NanoEdge displays, with up to 4K (3840 x 2400) resolution and a 0.2ms response time. They display a 100% DCI-P3 colour spectrum, and are certified for true black and colour accuracy.
Internally, these come with 12th Gen Intel Core i7 12700H or AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX CPUs, along with Intel Iris Xe or AMD Radeon graphics, up to 16GB DDR4 RAM, and 1TB PCIe SSD. You can also expect either the Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 port for fast charging and data transfers, as well as an HDMI 2.1 port for linking up with an external monitor if you desire.
ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate OLED Artist Editions
Designed in collaboration with artists Philip Colbert and Steven Harrington, the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED artist editions are whimsical looking and certainly eye-catching.
These are 13.3-inch Windows detachable OLED touchscreen laptops, which come with a themed smart cover and stand, sleeve and stylus holder. The laptops sport a 170° hinge, a quad-core Intel processor, as well as an ASUS Pen 2.0. There is also an option to include an artist-designed ASUS Marshmallow mouse.
Prices have not been announced, but they should become available later this year when these ASUS Vivobook laptops start coming off the production lines.
