‘Assassin’s Creed Mirage’ Is Five Times Shorter Than ‘Valhalla’ At Around 20 Hours

More isn’t necessarily better, and the same can be said of the gameplay experience. As longer hours continue to be a norm in the RPG space, Ubisoft is going in the opposite direction with Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the upcoming mainline entry in the popular franchise. The game is expected to take around 20 hours for the average player, and just 10 hours more for a “completionist” run.

Assassin's Creed Mirage 20 Hour Playtime

As reported by PCGN, which translated an interview with French YouTuber YouTuber Julien Chièze, the company’s lead producer Fabian Salomon confirmed the average internal run times to be around 20 to 23 hours for a non-completionist playthrough.

“Given that we do a lot of playtesting internally at Ubisoft, it’s part of our process, we really want to get as close as possible to the players, so we’ll say that the latest playtimes we’ve received average at around 20 to 23 hours,” he said. “That can go up to 25 to 30 hours for the completionists, and we’ll say that those who will be rushing the game will be around 20 hours.”

The runtime spells good news for existing fans who aren’t fond of a long-term investment like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. According to How Long To Beat, the previous installment is about 60 hours long and comes in at about 143 hours for completionists, with 96 hours going to side quests. This also means players can fully complete Mirage almost five times in the same time as it takes to beat Valhalla once — and thrice as fast for an average run.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage releases 12 October on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. It will hark back to the franchise’s stealth, parkour, and assassination roots, with a compatible haptic gaming suit set to bring the wall-climbing experience closer to the player through 30 different sensations.
