‘Arcane’ Season 2 Drops First Teaser, Fuels Warwick Fan Theory

Riot Games has just dropped the much-anticipated teaser trailer for the second season of its acclaimed animated series Arcane, based on the League of Legends universe.

The teaser, albeit brief, appears to confirm a significant fan theory from the first season. Anticipation has been building since the release of the first season in 2021, and the new teaser only adds to the excitement.

The 44-second teaser captivates viewers with a glimpse of Singed, the morally ambiguous scientist who created the pivotal drug Shimmer, conducting a blood transfusion. The camera then pans up to reveal a massive beast suspended above him, believed to be Warwick.

Fans have been eagerly discussing a theory since the first season’s finale, suggesting that the character Vander, who met a tragic end in season 1, might actually be Warwick, transformed by harrowing experiments. This latest teaser seems to lend credence to this theory, potentially setting Warwick up as a major character in Arcane season 2.

Set to premiere on Netflix in November 2024, Arcane season 2 continues the riveting story of sisters Vi and Jinx, voiced by Hailee Steinfeld and Ella Purnell, respectively. These central characters find themselves on opposing sides in a struggle between the advanced city of Piltover and the oppressed underworld of Zaun. Katie Leung will also return to voice Caitlyn Kiramman.

With its return, Arcane continues to engage both seasoned League of Legends players and newcomers alike, thanks to its captivating animation and compelling storytelling. The first season garnered wide acclaim and set high expectations for the forthcoming installment.

Riot Games is yet to unveil more details about the plot or additional voice cast for the new season.
