‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ Teaser Trailer Reveals Villains & High Stakes

The first teaser trailer to Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is finally here!

The 30-second teaser announced that a full trailer will be released in four days, and gives first looks at Jason Momoa and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II reprising their roles as hero Aquaman and villain Black Manta.

Most excitingly, the teaser also gave a glimpse of a jacked Patrick Wilson as Aquaman’s archnemesis and half-brother, Orm. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom marks Wilson’s DC debut, as well as Orm’s first movie appearance.

In the teaser trailer, Black Manta will stop at nothing to take down Aquaman and avenge his father’s death. Now wielding the Black Trident, the stakes are much higher for our titular hero. The trailer supports that by revealing the pained hero arriving at a burning house, and scenes of Aquaman fighting other sea creatures.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

The official synopsis of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom reads:

“Having failed to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Manta, still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death, will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all. This time Black Manta is more formidable than ever before, wielding the power of the mythic Black Trident, which unleashes an ancient and malevolent force. To defeat him, Aquaman will turn to his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis, to forge an unlikely alliance. Together, they must set aside their differences in order to protect their kingdom and save Aquaman’s family, and the world, from irreversible destruction.”

In addition to Momoa, Abdul-Mateen II and Wilson, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom also stars Amber Heard as Mera, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus and Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin.

James Wan is directing the superhero flick, while Peter Safran and Rob Cowan produce. Galen Vaisman and Walter Hamada are executive producers.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set to open in theatres on 20 December 2023.
