Activision Blizzard Developing Overwatch And Diablo Animated Series

If you are hungry for even more content from the likes of Activision Blizzard properties Overwatch and Diablo, this might just be the good news you have been waiting for.

According to the LinkedIn profile of Nick van Dyk, the Co-President of Activision Blizzard Studios, both Diablo and Overwatch are getting animated series, with the Diablo series getting a treatment much like Castlevania.

The description on van Dyk’s profile states that Diablo will get an animated adaptation “rendered in anime style,” is currently in pre-production, and will release worldwide via Netflix.

The profile also mentions that van Dyk has “developed and sold an animated series based on Blizzard’s Overwatch franchise,” together with his creative partner. With Blizzard’s already solid repertoire of CGI animated shorts and cinematics, this seems like a shoo-in from the start, although no official announcement has been made.

Both games will also have sequels coming out sometime in the future, with Diablo IV and Overwatch 2 being eagerly anticipated by their respective fan bases.

Activision has also been working on a Call of Duty movie that has since been put on hold, according to director Stefano Sollima.
