The 1997 action thriller film Face/Off starring John Travolta and Nicholas Cage will be getting a face lift courtesy of a reboot by Paramount Pictures.
First reported by Deadline, the reboot will feature a script penned by Oren Uziel (22 Jump Street), produced by Neal Moritz (Fast and Furious), and executive produced by David Permut.
No actors or directors have been attached to the reboot yet.
The original 1997 film starred John Travolta as Sean Archer, an FBI agent who was obsessed with catching a homicidal sociopath by the name of Castor Troy (Cage) who killed his son. The two end up taking each other’s physical appearance via surgery in an extremely convoluted plot involving revenge.
Aside from 22 Jump Street, Uziel is also known for films such as The Cloverfield Paradox and the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog.
No release date for the Face/Off reboot has been announced yet.
