The Pokémon World Championship 2026 has concluded, with the weekend tournament ending with the reveal that its next iteration will take place in Singapore.

As one of the biggest Pokémon events of the year, the tournament saw the gathering of both competitive players and franchise fans as they celebrated a weekend-long event filled with card battles and fan events. The massive tournament closed off with an equally spectacular closing ceremony, which was filled with announcements regarding upcoming games, movies, and updates.
The biggest announcement, however, was saved till last, with a video showcasing Pikachu interacting with the Legendary Pokémon Solgaleo, before four multi-coloured stars shot forth towards the galaxy and flew towards familiar sights like the Supertrees, Marina Bay Sands, and the EXPO building, before the grand announcement that the Pokémon World Championship 2027 will be held in Singapore. The reveal was met with cheers from the crowd, and the video was subsequently posted on the official Pokémon social media page.
Apart from the final reveal, the closing ceremony was host to a number of notable announcements, including an update to Pokémon Go, which is set to add Mega Evolved Pokémon to competitive play and also see the return of Armoured Mewtwo, a new TKTK set for the Pokémon Trading Card Game featuring Mega Evolutions from 2025’s Pokémon Legends: Z-A, a new trailer for the upcoming battle simulator Pokémon Champions, and the reveal of Pokémon Wild Card, the franchises first animated movie in seven years, that will arrive in 2027.
The Pokémon World Championship 2027 will take place over the weekend of 13 to 15 August 2027 at Singapore EXPO.
